Soft Natural: Silk Blouse

Soft Naturals in the corporate world, the struggle is real. This blouse can save your life. This blouse can save your job interview. Seriously, stretch silk?? Professional AND graceful? Yes please.

I know folks will ask, so let's go over why this one isn't for the Classics. Remember, body types are not aesthetics! Every Kibbe ID has their own version of Corporate Workwear, or Hot Girl Summer, or Christian Girl Autumn, or anything else your life requires. The key to making it look AMAZING on you is to honor your lines while doing it.

I have seen - and this makes me a little sad, because it doesn't have to be this way - a bunch of girls dressing in the same lines, but only one of them actually suits those lines, and the rest of them wish they had her body. Friends, there is another way! Although I guess it's cool that when you show up as your true self, other people automatically want to be you. Take that for what it's worth.

I digress. So this shirt is for the Naturals because of the clingy, stretchy, flowy-ness. Classics need stiffer lines. And why Soft Natural and not Flamboyant Natural? It's in the size of the lapels - they're quite small, perfect for a smaller person. Flamboyant items often feature very large lapels, sometimes reaching the edge of the shoulder. Notice how the model, a Flamboyant Natural, appears to have slightly too-broad shoulders? With wider lapels, it would be obvious that her shoulders are perfect, a defining feature. That's how wearing the wrong lines can distort your image! Not even models are immune!
