It's fairly common knowledge that Autumn and Spring are the warm seasons, and wear gold; while Summer and Winter are the cool seasons, and wear silver.
But there's a bit more nuance to it than that! Only the True seasons - True Autumn, True Summer, True Spring, True Winter - are stuck with the one color of jewelry. The others, being on the edge of their season and adjacent to the neighboring season, can borrow from them.
For instance, look at Soft Autumn here. It's warm, because it's Autumn. Right? And warms wear gold. However - notice that it's right next to the cool season of Summer. Close enough to be influenced by it, in fact. That's right, Soft Autumns can wear silver jewelry as well as gold. This is true of every season that borders another season - which is most of them!
There's another factor to consider, and that's the tone of the metal. Bright, tinfoil-type silver looks best on Winters; Summers do best with muted, antique silver. And while bright, tinny golds - like the shoes below - are associated with Spring, Autumns do better with antiqued golds.
